Start Them Young!

 In News

Healthy dental care habits should start from a young age. If you wait too long to take care of your teeth the higher the chance of developing gum disease or periodontitis! Did you know that kid’s menus in restaurants are full of sugar, saturated fat and sodium? All of these are the opposite of a nutritious diet and very unhealthy for developing children. Some restaurants have started to take the initiative to introduce healthy alternatives to their kid’s menus. Some have removed soda as the default beverage choice on children’s menus. The trouble is that 80% of children’s beverage options still remain as sugary drinks. We need a stronger impact to make a bigger difference. Start with encouraging your child to make healthy decisions so that the menu options don’t trick them! Lead the way and help them make the right choices. Of course also encourage them to keep brushing and flossing their teeth every day!
